$155,875.20 - $188,219.20

TELEWORK/ON-SITE OPPORTUNITY
This position is eligible for a combination of telework and on-site work assignments. Telework must be completed from a pre-designated home-based location within the State of California, and employees may be required to report on-site to address business needs. Telework is at the sole discretion of the Court and may be rescinded with 48 hours' notice, based on the needs of the Orange County Superior Court.

The Orange County Superior Court was established in 1893 and maintains jurisdiction over a wide range of matters, with our flagship location being the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, with additional courthouses located in Orange (Lamoreaux), Newport Beach (Harbor), Fullerton (North), and Westminster (West), as the fifth-largest trial court in the United States and the third-largest court of general jurisdiction in California. We have more than 140 judicial officers and over 1,500 staff with an operating budget of nearly $280 million. Our court is recognized for innovation, resource advancements, and community focus while managing over half a million case filings annually and serving a population exceeding three million. ABOUT THE POSITION
The Court Technology Architect (Application Architect) performs advanced professional duties related to the architecture, design, integration, modernization, security, and governance of the Court's application portfolio. This position is responsible for defining and implementing scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performing application solutions that support the Court's business objectives and operational workflows. The Application Architect serves as the Court's technical leader for application architecture, providing guidance on application design patterns, development standards, integration strategies, cloud adoption, DevSecOps practices, and emerging technologies. The position evaluates and recommends technologies, frameworks, tools, and architectural approaches that improve development productivity, enhance application reliability, strengthen security, and support long-term sustainability. The Application Architect collaborates closely with business analysts, developers, infrastructure teams, security personnel, vendors, and Court stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Responsibilities include hands-on activities, architecting enterprise applications and services, designing integrations between internal and external systems, conducting architectural and security reviews, establishing development standards and best practices, and ensuring compliance with Court technology policies and governance requirements. In addition, the Application Architect leads application modernization initiatives, develops prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions, mentors development staff, conducts code and design reviews, and promotes the adoption of innovative technologies, including AI-assisted development tools and modern software engineering practices. The position may serve as the technical lead for large, complex projects involving multiple applications, teams, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring solutions align with the Court's strategic objectives, architecture standards, security requirements, and operational needs.
