Job Description
- Position Overview

Preferred Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Java backend development, with deep experience using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud to build enterprise-grade, production-ready APIs.
- Extensive experience designing and developing microservices architectures, including service decomposition, inter-service communication, resilience patterns, and backward-compatible API versioning.
- Hands-on experience deploying and running microservices on OpenShift/Kubernetes, including containerization (Docker), configuration management, scaling, and environment-specific deployments (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD).
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles, including contract-first development, OpenAPI/Swagger documentation, proper HTTP semantics, and standardized error handling.
- Experience integrating backend APIs with mobile platforms (iOS and Android), ensuring performance, reliability, and secure data exchange for customer-facing mobile applications.
- Strong knowledge of API security, including OAuth2, JWT, mutual TLS, client credentials, token management, and secure access patterns required in regulated banking environments.
- Familiarity with API gateways and edge services, such as routing, throttling, authentication, logging, and monitoring of mobile-facing APIs.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for Java microservices, including automated builds, testing, quality gates, and deployment to OpenShift.
- Proven ability to support APIs through the full lifecycle, from development and testing through production releases, post-deployment monitoring, and defect remediation.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise and financial systems, with awareness of compliance, audit requirements, and high-availability expectations.
- Strong collaboration skills, working closely with mobile app teams, QA, product owners, and platform teams during feature delivery, redesign initiatives, and coordinated releases PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance.

Base Salary:
$63,250.00 - $158,700.00 Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.- Application Window
