Senior IBM i Modernization Engineer / ArchitectAbout the RoleOur direct client, a highly successful, well-established B2C company, is undertaking a high-impact modernization of mission-critical systems currently running on IBM i. This role sits at the center of that transformation—bridging deep legacy expertise with modern architecture.

You'll partner closely with key internal technical SMEs to stabilize, decode, and systematically evolve core platforms—including transaction processing, accounting pipelines, product creation, and inventory management—into a scalable .NET and Salesforce ecosystem backed by SQL Server.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can both operate in the legacy environment today and contribute to designing the future state architecture and code migration/refactoring.

ResponsibilitiesRapidly analyze and map complex IBM i (RPG/DB2) systems, including code, data flows, and dependenciesExtract and translate embedded business logic into clear, usable documentation for engineering and business teamsBuild and implement AI-assisted workflows to accelerate code analysis, documentation, and refactoringDefine and execute a pragmatic, phased modernization roadmap to .NET and SalesforceAssist with migration of core functionality (~70-80% to .NET, ~20-30% to Salesforce)Architect and oversee
