Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Tech Lead / Solution Architect to join a large insurance organization supporting a major financial transformation initiative. This individual will play a critical role in assessing inherited financial applications, and designing scalable, compliant architectures aligned to both immediate needs and a long‑term general ledger replacement roadmap. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical leader with deep finance domain expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, highly visible environment while guiding developers and influencing architectural direction. This is a remote, 6 month contract-to-hire with a pay range of $80-90/hr and salary conversion up to 175k.
Day-to-Day:
  • Lead architecture and technical direction for a new finance team
  • Assess existing finance applications and define modernization strategy
  • Design and implement financial domain‑specific architectures
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using Git
  • Lead root cause analysis and post‑mortems, driving action plans forward
  • Pull stories from backlog items and incidents and prioritize work accordingly
  • Partner with developers to assign work and guide execution
  • Ensure all changes align with short‑term delivery and long‑term roadmap
  • Produce strong technical and architectural documentation

  • 7+ years experience as a Tech Lead / Solution Architect
  • Strong finance domain experience (general ledger, financial systems, audits, transformations
  • Ability to assess current-state applications and design short and long term architecture roadmaps with audit and compliance awareness
  • Hands-on experience with Domain‑Driven Design (DDD) and financial domain architecture
  • Ability to execute root cause analysis and post‑mortems by working with developers (coming up with an action plan and assigning work accordingly)
  • Strong MS stack coding experience
  • Strong CI/CD pipeline knowledge (Git-based)
  • Experience in fast paced, agile environments
  • Exceptional communication and documentation skills
  • Experience starting teams from scratch and establishing best practices
  • Cloud migration experience (roadmap-driven, phased approach)
  • Experience balancing ideal architecture vs. real-world business use cases
  • Prior experience inheriting and stabilizing multiple existing applications
  • Background working in highly audited environments
