The DevOps Engineering Manager at Green Dot plays a pivotal role in shaping and leading the company's DevOps and Release Engineering functions. This leader is tasked with designing, implementing, and continuously improving CI/CD pipelines to ensure robust and streamlined software delivery processes. The position oversees the management and optimization of cloud infrastructure, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and AI-driven workflows to enhance automation, scalability, and operational efficiency. Beyond technical execution, the Manager develops and drives strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within cross-functional teams. They are responsible for mentoring team members, establishing best practices, and ensuring the highest standards of software reliability and performance across the enterprise. Ultimately, this role has a significant influence on Green Dot's ability to efficiently deliver high-quality products and adapt to the evolving technological landscape. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor DevOps and Release Engineering teams across multiple geographies. Oversee CI/CD pipeline development, maintenance, and optimization. Manage cloud-native infrastructure (Azure, AWS) and container orchestration. Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption and automation. Collaborate with Cloud Systems Engineering, SRE, Security, and Development teams to ensure secure and reliable deployments. Plan and execute platform migrations and reliability engineering initiatives. Integrate AI tools to enhance development efficiency and software delivery. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Align individual goals with team and organizational objectives, focusing on measurable improvements in deployment velocity, system uptime, and incident response times Participate in scheduled on-call rotations, ensuring primary and backup coverage for critical systems. Adhere to escalation protocols and provide timely incident response Support team members in pursuing relevant certifications and professional growth opportunities Ensure fair and transparent on-call scheduling, provide backup coverage, and facilitate knowledge transfer during handoffs. AI-Driven Solutions This role will actively explore and implement AI-driven solutions to improve development efficiency and software delivery.Examples include:
Leveraging AI for predictive deployment risk analysis. Automating code reviews and quality gate enforcement using AI models. Using AI to optimize CI/CD pipeline performance and resource utilization. Integrating AI assistants to support developer productivity and troubleshooting. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 5-7+ years of experience in DevOps, Release Engineering, or related roles. Proven leadership experience managing technical teams. Expertise in CI/CD tools (e.g., ADO, GitHub), cloud application technologies (AKS), and cloud platforms. Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code and GitOps. Experience with monitoring and observability tools. Familiarity with AI/ML tools and their application in software development workflows. RegularPAY RANGE
The targeted base salary for this position is $118,800 to $178,200 per year.
