You will be part of something bigger. This is where the best are built. Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Early Career Software Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for all phases of developing command and control (C2) ground and mission control software for various autonomous air vehicle platforms. Your responsibilities will span the technology development lifecycle, including requirements generation, software design, code, test, integration, and flight test. Integration activities will include various host systems, such as live assets, simulated systems, and laboratory environments that encompass constructive simulations, physical hardware, and system simulations. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of C/C++ or Lua. Must be a US Citizen.; This position will require a government security clearance.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or above from an accredited college in computer science, computer engineering and/or electrical engineering.
  • Experience using C, C++, or Lua
  • Experience with Windows or Linux development
  • Willing to Travel - (up to 10%)
Desired Skills:
  • Agile Software Development Experience
  • Agile Process Tools (Jira)
  • Configuration Management Systems (e.g. Git)
  • DevOps Experience (GitLab)
  • Python Programming Experience
  • Experience developing software for safety critical systems
  • Experience with networking and internet protocols:
IP, TCP/UDP, RTP, TLS
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as CppUnit
  • Experience building custom Linux distros with Yocto
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with Containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Service-based Application Development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
