We are looking for software engineers excited to accelerate the future of air dominance and develop a powerful autonomy stack that integrates computer vision, path planning, estimation, guidance, and controls for unmanned aerial vehicles. Software Engineer - UAV Systems (Entry to Mid-Level)
Location:
Marietta, Georgia with travel less than 25% Objectives of this role:
  • Develop a powerful autonomy stack that integrates computer vision, path planning, estimation, guidance, and controls for unmanned aerial vehicles.
  • Set up and maintain servers for simulations, flight data storage, or CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud-based infrastructure used for testing, data logging, or backend APIs, and maintaining the company website andinternal tools.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • B.S. from an accredited course of study in engineering and 3+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, M.S. +1-year related work experience)
  • Experienced and proficient in a variety of programming languages such as C/C++, Java, and Python
  • Familiarity with communications busses and protocols (e.g. CAN, CANFD, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI, QSPI, I2C, Ethernet, ARINC-825, ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, etc.)
  • Systems programming skills, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and optimization
  • Backend experience with cloud platforms, e.g., AWS, and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of real-time communication, networking, and data pipelines.
  • Backend and frontend development experience, HTML/CSS/Javascript, Docker, CI/CD pipeline, application & infrastructure networking (TCP/UDP/DNS), secure communication protocols (TLS/VPN)
  • Strong debugging and system integration skills Export Control Requirements.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Matlab to include Simulink
  • Proficiency with Ardupilot
  • Experience instantiating automated hardware-in-the-loop testing infrastructure
  • Functional knowledge of development, verification, and validation requirements for
MIL-HDBK-516C
  • Experience designing and developing embedded applications in autonomous vehicle software systems
  • Experience developing interfaces to sensors and actuators
  • Experience in troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems
  • Familiarity with navigation and communications systems
  • Experience developing high-assurance, safety-critical, and flight-critical software applications
