Job Description

Tool Application Specialist / Application Engineer Illinois - Elk Grove Village We are seeking a highly technical, customer-focused Product Specialist / Tool Application Specialist to deliver innovative, technology-driven solutions for our clients. You will act as the key technical liaison between customers, our regional sales teams, and the technical headquarters in Europe. This role combines cutting-edge technical expertise, sales support, and international collaboration to ensure optimal tooling solutions. Key Responsibilities Understand customer machining requirements including technology, machine limitations, and materials. Provide technical solutions and support to Regional Sales Managers (RSM) and clients. Advise on new and existing customers Conduct customer visits with RSMs for tool testing, troubleshooting, and presentations.
Collaborate closely with internal teams:
Technical Engineering, Production, Quality, Sales, SCM, and Technology Center. Prepare and manage quotations for standard and special tools in line with RFQ deadlines. Maintain accurate records of technical assistance, tool recommendations, and application history. Contribute to team knowledge sharing and technical documentation. Occasional travel to facilities in Europe. Required Skills & Experience Strong experience in cutting tool technology and machining processes (drilling, milling, tapping). Expert knowledge in metallurgy, metal alloys, and carbide. Ability to read technical drawings and create sketches/concepts. College degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Systematic, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in MS Office; experience with SAP, CRM, or similar systems. Excellent communication skills and technical writing abilities. Multilingual skills preferred (Italian, German, French, Spanish).
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
