As a COBOL Developer at Kyndryl, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining core banking systems in mainframe environments that support mission‑critical financial operations. In this role, you will work on legacy systems that process high‑volume transactions related to accounts, credits, payments, and financial movements.

You will operate in highly regulated environments where precision, stability, and compliance are essential. Working closely with cross‑functional technical and business teams, your work will directly contribute to the reliability and continuity of critical banking services.

Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze functional and technical requirements to support core banking applications.

Develop and maintain COBOL programs in batch and online mainframe environments.

Manage and support data processing using DB2 and VSAM files.

Optimize high‑volume transactional processes to ensure performance and stability.

Provide production support, monitoring, and technical documentation for critical systems.

Required Technical and Professional Experience5+ years of experience developing or supporting applications in mainframe environments.

Hands‑on experience with COBOL and JCL.Experience working with CICS in online transaction processing environments.

Knowledge of DB2 and VSAM for data management.

Familiarity with mainframe operational processes and production support.

Experience with Git or version control tools, including integrations with modern pipelines.

Preferred Technical and Professional ExperienceExperience working in the financial services or banking sector.

Exposure to modernization initiatives, such as APIs or integrations over mainframe systems.

Familiarity with DevOps tools or CI/CD pipelines for mainframe environments.

Basic English proficiency for technical documentation and collaboration with global teams.
