Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated J unior DevOps Engineer in Louisville, KY. This is not a C2C opportunity. Work is performed on-site in Louisville, KY. About the Role The Junior DevOps Engineer will support the administration, automation, and continuous improvement of our cloud-native infrastructure and application delivery platforms. This role serves as a key backup to the DevOps Engineer, providing operational support while developing expertise in Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and DevOps best practices. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to build hands-on experience in modern cloud and container technologies within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist with the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications. Support software deployments, upgrades, patches, and routine platform maintenance activities. Help maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation processes, and infrastructure-as-code solutions. Develop and maintain scripts to automate operational and administrative tasks. Troubleshoot application, container, and infrastructure issues, participating in incident response and root cause analysis. Collaborate with development, infrastructure, database, and network teams to support reliable application delivery. Assist with implementing security controls, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements. Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, operational procedures, and system diagrams. Participate in on-call rotations and scheduled after-hours maintenance as required. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with company policies, security standards, and data privacy requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Required Skills Foundational experience in systems administration, software development, or cloud infrastructure. Basic understanding of containers, microservices, and Kubernetes through coursework, certifications, personal projects, or professional experience. Experience scripting in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or a similar language. Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and version control systems. Understanding of monitoring, logging, and infrastructure operations. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new technologies. Preferred Skills Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar DevOps tools. Relevant certifications such as KCNA, CKA, or cloud platform certifications. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar). Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
