Junior Software Developer Holyoke, MA
  • ON SITE.
Hazen Paper was founded in 1925 and is based in Holyoke, MA with a satellite facility in Housatonic, MA. Hazen Paper is a world-class paper converter specializing in custom holographic originations, film, foil, and paper laminations, specialty and gravure coatings, and rotary embossing. We are looking for a Junior Software Developer to work under and learn from our current Senior Software Developer. The Junior Software Developer will support the design, development, and maintenance of applications that meet the needs of the business. Working under the guidance of senior team members, they will assist in building, testing, and deploying applications, while gaining hands-on experience with real-world systems and users. This role is ideal for someone early in their development career who is eager to learn, grow their technical skills, and contribute to a team. Key Responsibilities Assist in the development and testing of applications to support business requirements Help deploy applications to end users under supervision Provide basic user support and respond to application-related issues, escalating when necessary Assist with maintaining application data and ensuring data accuracy Contribute to system documentation, including recording changes and updates Support troubleshooting efforts and help resolve bugs or minor system issues Assist with routine system maintenance, updates, and upgrades Learn and follow development best practices and coding standards Required Skills & Qualifications Basic knowledge of software development concepts and relational databases (SQL) Familiarity with application testing and debugging fundamentals Willingness to learn new technologies and tools Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively within a team Desired, but willing to train:
