Job Description

Position Summary:
The Technology Services (TS) intern is responsible for providing application development support to the application development team. TS interns complete duties and responsibilities as assigned based on knowledge, skills, and abilities while learning and gaining more software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience. These internship roles require periodic onsite work in CFF's Bethesda office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete development tasks, including custom coding and bug fixes, and update status in ticket tracking systems (Azure DevOps, FreshService). Participate in daily scrum activities. Review pull requests from other team members and participate in the pull request process. Write reports as needed in SQL, SSRS, or PowerBI as required. Follow established procedures in CFF's software development lifecycle. Assist in project implementation and complete assigned administrative tasks. Follow up with customers to ensure the issue has been resolved. Shadow and learn from senior application developers to solve technical problems and help document processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
A college student enrolled in a Computer Science or related discipline. Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Interested in working in a non-profit environment. Previous experience working in a team development environment preferred.
Fall/Spring internships:
minimum 8 hours per week commitment (minimum 4 hours each day block), maximum 35 hours per week.
Summer/Winter internships:
Minimum 14 hours/week with at least one (1) full day (7 hours/day), maximum 35 hours per week.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Application Development Director.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust and temperature. No heavy lifting required.
