Solution Architect Blue Sky Innovative Solutions - 5.0 Bethesda, MD Job Details Full-time | Contract 2 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Business requirements Project stakeholder communication Stakeholder management Full Job Description Blue Sky is seeking a Solution Architect to support a strategic NIH technology management and advisory contract focused on improving IT governance, enterprise planning, modernization, project and portfolio performance, scientific solution delivery, and executive decision support. The role supports NIH technology modernization, solution architecture, technical design, enterprise standards alignment, COTS and custom solution evaluation, cloud-enabled platforms, integration planning, and scientific solution delivery, translating mission and business needs into secure, scalable, accessible, and maintainable technology solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop solution architecture documents, technical design documents, specifications, diagrams, and implementation guidance. Translate business and technical requirements into practical solution designs. Conduct alternatives analysis, technology evaluations, and proof-of-concept planning. Support architecture pattern reuse, reference implementations, and standards alignment. Collaborate with enterprise architects, business analysts, project managers, developers, security teams, and Government stakeholders. Support evaluation and implementation of COTS and custom-developed solutions. Consider security, privacy, data, integration, accessibility, scalability, maintainability, and cloud readiness in solution designs. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field. 7+ years of software, systems, cloud, integration, or solution architecture experience. Experience developing solution architecture documents, technical designs, interface diagrams, or architecture decision records. Experience translating requirements into technical solutions. Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills. Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust. Preferred Qualifications Federal IT or health IT experience. NIH, HHS, or public health technology experience. Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, APIs, microservices, DevSecOps, COTS integration, data platforms, identity/access management, security architecture, or Zero Trust. Experience with Section 508, NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, HIPAA-sensitive environments, or federal security controls. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, TOGAF, CISSP, SAFe, or related certifications.
