Job Title:
Software Engineer Job Description The Software Engineer will design, code, and maintain applications in various software languages with minimal supervision. This role involves embedded programming (C/C++) for Microcontrollers or FPGAs, Graphical User Interface programming, and writing interface control documents, specifications, and test procedures for designs. The engineer will work closely with hardware in a lab setting and perform debugging using lab equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers and Digital Oscilloscopes. Responsibilities Design, code, and maintain applications in various software languages with minimal supervision. Engage in embedded programming (C/C++) for Microcontrollers or FPGAs. Develop Graphical User Interfaces. Write interface control documents, specifications, and test procedures for designs. Work closely with hardware in a lab setting. Debug using lab equipment like Spectrum Analyzers and Digital Oscilloscopes. Essential Skills Proficiency in C/C++ programming. Experience with Linux and embedded software development. Familiarity with Microcontrollers and hardware interfacing. Knowledge of SQL, Python, and MATLAB. Skilled in Software Development using C++, Object Oriented Design, and Design Patterns. Familiarity with Database Design (SQL), Coding Standards, and the Software Development Lifecycle. Proficient with Visual Studio 2010 and later. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks. Strong self-motivation and initiative. An Active Top Secret Clearance is required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. 2+ years of related experience for Level 2 positions. 5+ years of related experience for Level 3 positions. Relevant internships in C/C++ programming are acceptable. Work Environment The work environment includes designing and developing test and simulation hardware and software for Electronic Warfare (EW) applications. This involves systems used on the flight line, range, or in a lab to simulate enemy radar or missile threats for testing aircraft sensors and electronics or for pilot training. The facility is state-of-the-art, providing resources to train and grow. The company follows a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off. It offers the opportunity to work on innovative technology in a supportive environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Hunt Valley, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
