XRISM is currently in its second year of routine guest observations, and this role reflects that maturity - responsibilities span both ongoing software maintenance and support as well as continued development. Specific duties of this position include the following: software development, maintenance, and support for calibrating and analyzing data from space instruments; writing/editing technical documentation and user guides; and assisting with user support. Also included are development, operation, and maintenance of software for pipeline processing (including monitoring and troubleshooting of operational pipelines), data ingest, and archiving.

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Astrophysics, Astronomy, Physics, or Physical Sciences C/C++, Perl, and shell scripting in UNIX/Linux/Mac OSX context Technical Writing experience 3 or more years of experience US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (LPR) required, with US residency for the past 3 consecutive years. Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 Investigation through NASA.
