Job Description

Akima Data Management (ADM), an Akima, LLC company provides turnkey solutions that offer better systems, tools, and methods to further your goals, reduce costs, and streamline operations. From requirements analysis, design, and implementation to operations and training ADM's personnel are well-versed in best practices across Enterprise IT, Mission Support Services, and Specialized Technologies. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Appian Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing business process management (BPM) applications using the Appian platform. This role requires a strong understanding of Appian's capabilities and a solid background in software development as well as a passion for creating efficient and user-friendly solutions.
Responsibilities Design and Development:
Design, develop, and deploy applications using the Appian platform and knowledge of all Appian components including process models, Record Types, SAIL interfaces, Database and CDT/Data type development, APIs, reports, and integrations. Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and translate them into technical specifications. Experience developing new Appian applications and establishing initial data structures and security / group membership model Utilize Appian's low-code capabilities to rapidly prototype and iterate on solutions.
Integration and Data Management:
Integrate Appian applications with external systems using web services (SOAP/REST), JDBC, and other integration methods. Experience working with developing or maintaining Appian Plugins. Ability to troubleshoot integration and connection challenges between Appian and other external systems. Design and implement data models and manage data within Appian to ensure data integrity and security. Develop and optimize Appian and SQL queries to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough unit testing, integration testing, and system testing to ensure the quality and reliability of Appian applications. Troubleshoot and debug issues and provide timely resolutions. Participate in code reviews to maintain high coding standards and best practices.
Maintenance and Support:
Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements for existing Appian applications. Experience with troubleshooting long running process instances and performing process instance upgrades Experience working with larger Appian applications with hundreds of objects and multi-tenant Appian environments Monitor application performance and proactively address any issues. Stay up to date with the latest Appian features and releases and recommend platform upgrades and improvements.
Qualifications Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Appian Developer. Appian certification (e.g., Appian Certified Developer) is a significant plus.
Technical Skills:
Proven experience with the Appian platform, including Appian Process Modeler, SAIL, Records, Sites, and Integrations. Strong understanding of relational databases and proficiency in SQL. Experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Familiarity with web services (REST/SOAP) and APIs. Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work. Must be a US citizen and/or green card holder and be able to obtain Public Trust clearance. Prior FDA experience is a plus. Job
