Role Summary:
Reporting to the Territory Manager, the Controls and Application Engineer is a key member of the Galloup sales team. The Controls and Application Engineer supports the Galloup sales team by providing technical expertise throughout the sales and project process. The person in this role will develop solutions, prepare estimates, design control systems, and create detailed schematics and panel layouts. The Controls and Application Engineer will recommend appropriate products and communicate technical information to customers and internal partners. This position plays a key role in driving panel project opportunities.

Exciting work you will do: The essential duties and responsibilities of the Controls and Application Engineer will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: Create estimates from designs, specifications, or verbal communication Design detailed wiring diagrams and panel layouts via AutoCAD Select hardware components and design electrical schematics Interface with new or existing field devices PLC and HMI programming Perform duties related to the design, development, and implementation of PLC Control Panels Configure settings in hardware devices Read P&ID drawings and customer specifications to be able to select correct products Review applications that consist of but are not limited to: valve, flow, temperature, pressure, and level product sizing and selection Recommend and/or analyze materials and equipment required for project Explain and articulate product features and applications Compile proposals and reports related to technical products Clarify customer's understanding of products and services, answering questions and offering relevant information Communicate project development to the customer, outside sales representatives, manufacturers, and location manager Understand customers' needs and identify sales opportunities Understand the technical needs of the customer and suggest appropriate products and services Communicate and coordinate project details with colleagues, as necessary Communicate with customers and vendors through various channels Process orders, quotes, and requests Respond promptly to customer inquiries Follow up with customers and resolve any issues that may arise Stay current on new and evolving product offerings; utilize knowledge in selling activities Keep customers and colleagues informed about new technological products Perform other duties and projects as assigned Competencies you possess: Customer Focus Results, action oriented Accountability and responsibility Teamwork and collaboration Displaying technical expertise Detail oriented Time Management Understanding Others, Listening Continuous learning mindset What you'll need:
Work Experience:
Entry Level engineering
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of skills and experience
Analytical/Computer Skills:
Critical thinking and an eye for detail; competent with MS Office and Excel; ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents and bid specifications; proficient with AutoCAD, AutoCAD electrical, or similar software
Organization Skills:
Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed; ability to work in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment Cross-functional skills: Ability to work well cross-functionally; provides excellent internal and external customer service
Communication Skills:
Strong interpersonal communications, problem solving, organizational and written/verbal communication skills; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical customers or team members
