Job Description
The Application Engineer will be a key technical advisor for the Factory Automation product lines.
This position generates new business and ensures growth of existing accounts for Factory Automation products by performing the following duties. Other duties may be assigned.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide support for Factory Automations' CATRAC cable and hose carriers and GEMCO rotary and position measurement equipment with an emphasis on our mechanical products, CATRAC, Brakes, Footswitches, Rotary Limit Switches and Camboxes. Provide timely product and technical information to existing and potential customers. Review and respond to customers' requests for custom product and application inquiries. Estimate production times, labor requirements, and related costs to determine sales price for opportunities. Define customer requirements from their requests, drawings and/or bid packages to generate a quote and to give redlines, requirements or statement of work to engineering. Provide custom quotations to customers and track in Salesforce CRM. Enter and maintain sales leads, applications and opportunities in Salesforce. Provide team with market information derived from customer requests, quotes and opportunities.EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS
Engineering bachelor's degree preferred; technical school or equivalent mechanical experience considered. 3+ years' hands-on technical sales preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams). Ability to work within a cross functional team (engineering, operations, purchasing, customer service) to define and convey customer requirements. Self-motivated, able to work with little supervision. Familiarity with technical drawings required. Previous experience working in a custom manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn about mechanical and electromechanical assemblies. Flexible, able to adapt to changing design requirements and easily transition between projects to meet priority in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects Previous experience with ERP software (Oracle preferred); CRM software (Salesforce preferred). #CareForTomorrowAtAMETEK STC
