Senior Applications Engineer (Advanced Composites)#26-00605 Romeo, MI
All On-site Job Description Job Description:
The expectation of the SRAE is to work alongside Business Development Managers to build strong relationships with prospective customers and support the development of tailored products and tooling solutions. The role requires a high level of technical expertise to evaluate customer requirements, guide design and process decisions, and ensure alignment with manufacturing capabilities and production intent. In addition, the SRAE ensures profitability by participating in the quote process, establishing pricing, and maintaining relationship until the scope is well defined, validated, and ready for execution.
Responsibilities:
Identify markets where Client technologies could offer a compelling value proposition that can solve problems in a highly differentiated and valuable way Develop specific RWW statements Work with regional management to gain buy-in for the market exploration Perform market evaluation of the target market and either validate the VP and RWW via repeat production POs or recommend stopping pursuit of the market Lead initial evaluation and validation of technologies to key customer specifications Transition successful RWW to permanent account managers Collaborate regionally and globally to develop product and sales strategy and tactics Develop and present value proposition to potential customers Maintain effective internal communication Interface with R D and PD to test and validate initial prototypes to technical requirements for supporting early RWW assessments Participate in quote efforts, including establishing all inputs required to effectively develop costs and establish pricing, as well as delivering and presenting quotes Work along side Business Development Manager to obtain customer commitments (purchase orders) Participate in and/or coordinate with Program Managers as appropriate for gate reviews Participate in developing our product strategy by identifying customer needs and by gathering and communicating competitive knowledge Actively participate in process improvement by participating in department and program meetings
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years Sales/Application Engineering Experience in a technical product environment Experience in one or all industries: Aerospace, Industrial or Sporting Goods Technical or Engineering Background Proactive communicator and collaborator Strong knowledge of Client business model, culture and technologies Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, along with strong presentation skills Ability to maintain and develop new relationships; negotiating skills; ability to influence customer decisions Strong organizational skills; attention to detail; financial management Ability to problem solve Ability to travel Experience in Aerospace preferred
