The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Chief Software Engineer to join the T-7 System Software team located in Berkley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with people and for delivering exceptional products and services to our customers. The candidate will be responsible for full life-cycle software development of the Mission Systems and Vehicle Management software products to meet T-7 program milestones. In addition to the completion of the Engineering Manufacturing Development contract, this role is also responsible for the execution of work on future T-7 contracts. This position in the software organization is an existing position on the program. The T-7 Red Hawk is a state-of-the-art trainer being developed for the U.S. Air Force. This all-new training platform brings advanced training capabilities to prepare pilots for fifth-generation combat. The T-7 delivers leading-edge technology that will revolutionize pilot training. The successful candidate for this role will drive the execution of real-time embedded C++ and Ada software for the T-7 Vehicle Management Systems Computers (VMSC) and the T-7 Mission Management Processors (MMP). The candidate will collaborate and coordinate with internal partner teams and with external customers. This position requires project, people, and technical leadership excellence; customer engagement; championing Lean-Agile best practices; process alignment and adherence; metrics development; and consistent collaboration and coordination to meet program milestones. Position Responsibilities:
Oversees the design, development, test, and maintenance of non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards Oversees the review, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into initial design of software products Reviews the development, maintenance, enhancement and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations Oversees development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products Oversees debugging and resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products Oversees handling of user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues and user feedback analysis Oversees research and implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development Leads development, establishment, monitoring and improvement of software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks Reviews planning, execution and documentation of software research and development projects Consults on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations Oversees software project management activities and software supplier management functions Oversees tracking and evaluation of software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance with project plans and industry standards Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Bachelor's Degree Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start) 15+ years of Software Engineering experience 10+ years of experience developing embedded real-time software 3+ years of programming experience in C++ Experience with Agile software development Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Level 5 / Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 14+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 18+ years of directly related work experience OR 22+ years of related, relevant experience Experience leading small (5+ people) teams for embedded software projects Experience leading avionics supplier-developed projects Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle Experience working with software version control tools such as Git Conflict of Interest:
