A Field Application Engineer (FAE) focused on grid-connected or off-grid energy systems plays a key role in supporting the deployment, integration, and performance of advanced energy solutions across utility-scale and commercial applications. This role partners closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of energy systems within the broader electrical grid, with an emphasis on grid synchronization, system optimization, and customer success.Key Responsibilities Grid & System Integration Expertise:
Develop and maintain deep knowledge of grid-connected or off-grid energy systems, including synchronization, interconnection requirements, and overall system performance within utility and commercial environments.Customer and Sales Support:
Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide technical guidance on integrating energy solutions into existing grid infrastructure. Support system commissioning, performance validation, and issue resolution in the field.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, product management, and global teams to ensure solutions meet application requirements, grid standards, and project specifications. Act as a liaison between field operations and internal teams.Field Data Collection and Analysis:
Monitor system performance, collect operational data, and analyze grid interaction behavior to identify optimization opportunities and resolve technical challenges.Operational Excellence:
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to system performance, field support processes, and service operations across USA projects.Documentation and Training:
Contribute to technical documentation, grid interconnection guidelines, and best practices. Provide training to internal teams and customers on system integration and operation.Travel:
Willingness to travel (approximately 25%) for on-site support, commissioning, and customer engagement, including occasional international travel.Minimum Qualifications:
2- 6 years of experience with grid-connected or off-grid energy systems such as battery energy storage systems (BESS), photovoltaic (PV) inverters, EV charging infrastructure, or utility power systems.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of grid synchronization, power system behavior, and interconnection standards. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, analyze performance data, and support commissioning activities.Tools & Systems:
Proficiency with diagnostic tools, communication protocols, and standard technical documentation platforms.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with utilities, EPCs, or grid operators Familiarity with North American grid codes and interconnection standards Bilingual in Mandarin is a plus Electrical certification or license preferred Benefit atDelta Electronics Americas:
