- We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mainframe Developer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM, along with deep experience in both online and batch processing environments. The candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality, zero-defect solutions in a mainframe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- + Develop, enhance, maintain, and support mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
+ Work extensively on both online and batch JCL processes and related development activities. + Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. + Troubleshoot application and production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes. + Ensure high-quality code delivery with strong focus on first-time-right execution and zero defects in production. + Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and development best practices. + Mentor junior developers and support the team in delivering high-quality solutions. + Use JIRA to manage assigned work items and track development progress. + Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
Required Skills:
- + Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
+ Proven experience in online and batch JCL development and support. + Strong database skills. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Very good communication skills. + Experience in code reviews, quality assurance, and mentoring junior developers. + Strong commitment to delivering high-quality, stable, and defect-free solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- + Experience with IBM Debugger. + Experience with GitHub. + Understanding of Java programming. + Experience using JIRA. + Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Education:
- + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
The base salary for this position is $75,000 to $81,000 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies. Benefits available to eligible employees in this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, comprehensive employee assistance program, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off and holidays and paid learning days.
