Job Description
Our client, a major manufacturer of complex infrastructure systems is seeking a hands-on Software Developer to support a critical 6-month modernization initiative within our Optical Sub-Assembly (OSA) and Optical Component Solutions (OCS) teams. This role focuses on upgrading and enhancing production-floor applications that support advanced manufacturing and data collection processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys owning clearly defined projects, working closely with engineers and process owners, and seeing their work directly impact manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
Convert and modernize existing production applications from LabWindows CVI (C) to LabVIEW Develop and maintain desktop GUI applications used on the production floor Interface with manufacturing instruments such as laser etchers and motion-controlled stages Collaborate with process owners to gather requirements and deliver practical solutions Write and optimize SQL queries to support manufacturing data and reporting Develop Python scripts to automate data workflows and ETL processes Test, deploy, and support applications in a production environment Create clear technical documentation and provide end-user support as neededDesired Background/Skills:
2-3+ years of software development experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong experience with LabVIEW (migration or re-platforming experience highly preferred) Background working with C/C++ or CVI National C Proficiency with SQL (MySQL and/or Oracle) Working knowledge of Python scripting Experience using version control (Git or similar) Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholdersOther Information:
