Equities Analytics Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced KDB+ Developer to support a large-scale transformation initiative focused on building a next-generation global trading platform across execution, prime brokerage, clearing, and margining services. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting a strategic analytics platform for Equities Electronic Trading, delivering high-performance and highly resilient solutions that process large-scale market data.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain KDB+/Q-based applications supporting electronic trading platforms. Build scalable, low-latency systems capable of processing high volumes of market and order data. Optimize query performance across large datasets ranging from terabytes to petabytes. Implement high-availability, fault-tolerant, and load-balanced KDB+ environments. Collaborate with trading technology, infrastructure, and business teams to deliver strategic enhancements. Analyze and resolve complex technical and business challenges. Establish best practices for coding, testing, deployment, and system monitoring. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers and analysts. Ensure compliance with enterprise technology standards, security requirements, and regulatory policies. Support integration across trading platforms, analytics systems, and market connectivity solutions.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience with KDB+ and Q programming language . Strong experience building and supporting scalable KDB+ applications. Experience implementing load balancing and high-availability solutions within KDB+ environments. Expertise in performance tuning and query optimization for large-scale datasets. Solid understanding of market data, order flow, and electronic trading systems. Knowledge of financial messaging protocols such as FIX . Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Electronic Trading, Algorithmic Trading, or Market Making environments. Exposure to Equities Trading platforms and analytics systems. Experience working within investment banking or capital markets organizations. Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field preferred. Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required. Master's Degree preferred.
