DESCRIPTION
Be the Architect of a Modern, Employee Centered HR Experience at a Mission Driven Healthcare Leader At VNA Health Group, our commitment to moving healthcare forward extends beyond our patients, and it begins with our people. For more than 100 years, we've created a nurturing, innovative environment where clinicians thrive through one-on-one patient care, meaningful connections, and personalized attention. We bring that same dedication to every employee across our organization. As a community anchored nonprofit, our mission is deeply human. We care for vulnerable populations, strengthen public health, and support tens of thousands of individuals each year through compassionate, high impact services. The HR System Solution Architect plays a direct role in enabling this work. Your systems and solutions empower the people who care for our communities. This role is especially meaningful for candidates transitioning from large corporate or Fortune 500 environments who want their expertise to fuel purpose driven, community focused work. Here, the technology you build strengthens the workforce that strengthens our mission. A Rare Opportunity to Build Something That Lasts As we modernize and elevate our employee experience, we're seeking a visionary HR System Solution Architect to build the foundation of a truly employee centric HR technology ecosystem. This is a rare opportunity to help shape a digital environment from the ground up; one that supports our workforce, strengthens our mission, and leaves a lasting organizational footprint. You won't just support transformation — you will architect the future. You will help drive VNA's shift toward a more modern, modular, open architecture HR tech landscape, leveraging API driven design, AI enabled HR capabilities, workflow automation, workforce analytics, and digital transformation initiatives that will redefine how HR enables the organization. You will join a collaborative Human Resources team, play a strategic role in maturing our HR technology landscape, and help shape how we attract, develop, and care for the people who deliver care to our communities. If you're inspired by meaningful impact, modern technology, and building something that will last, we'd love to meet you.
Your First Mission:
Build a Strong, Reliable Foundation The initial focus of this role is the optimization, governance, and performance of our core HR and business systems, ensuring reliability, data integrity, and strong adoption across HR operations. Your early work will stabilize and strengthen the systems our employees rely on every day. From this foundation, the HR System Solution Architect will expand into a broader HR technology ecosystem strategy, evaluating high value opportunities, emerging technologies, flexible architectures, and AI enabled capabilities that support long term organizational growth and innovation. This progressive scope ensures you begin with meaningful impact on Day One while helping architect the systems that shape our future.
What You'll Do:
Lay the Foundation for a Modern HR Tech Architecture
  • Define and evolve the enterprise HR technology architecture: applications, integrations, data models, and key workflows.
  • Build and champion a multi year roadmap that supports modernization, growth, and digital advancement.
  • Create scalable standards for system design, data governance, security, and access, supporting a seamless, employee centric experience. Own and Elevate Core HR Platforms
  • Serve as product owner and architect across HRIS, payroll, time, recruiting, and learning systems
  • Strengthen foundational processes while introducing automation, self service, and mobile friendly enhancements.
  • Lead structured planning, testing, and deployment of system releases, ensuring smooth, value driven rollouts.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development to ensure systems are fully utilized and harmonized end to end. Build a Connected, Insight Driven HR Ecosystem
  • Design and support integrations using APIs to ensure fast, secure, reliable data flows across HR, Finance, and identity tools.
  • Mature our master data foundation, establishing consistent definitions for employee, position, and organizational information.
  • Deliver trusted dashboards and analytics that empower HR and business leaders to make informed decisions. Lead Vendor Partnerships & Technology Strategy
  • Manage relationships with HR tech vendors, overseeing contracts, renewals, SLAs, escalations, and solution planning.
  • Drive evaluation of new solutions through RFPs, fit gap analysis, proofs of concept, and cost benefit assessments.
  • Partner with IT to align HR systems with enterprise architecture, security standards, and resilience requirements. Guide Change, Training & Adoption
  • Lead change management and communication for new system capabilities and process enhancements.
  • Equip super users and end users through training, playbooks, and knowledge resources that strengthen confidence and adoption.
  • Facilitate HR technology advisory committees to bring clarity, alignment, and transparency to decision making. Deliver Operational Excellence and Long-Term Sustainability
  • Build a tiered support model including incident management, problem resolution, and performance metrics such as SLAs, adoption, and user satisfaction.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation that strengthen long term system sustainability: architecture diagrams, data dictionaries, integration inventories, security frameworks, testing materials.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HR technology, HRIS architecture, HR operations, or enterprise systems design, including leadership roles in complex organizational environments.
  • Deep understanding of HR functions to ensure system solutions align with regulatory requirements and organizational strategy.
  • Strong business and HR acumen, with demonstrated success in designing technology solutions that support strategic HR and organizational objectives.
  • Expert-level knowledge of HRIS platforms, with experience configuring and optimizing enterprise HR systems; familiarity with open-architecture, API ‑ driven, and cloud ‑ based HR technologies.
