Position SummaryThe Software Developer 3 is a senior-level, remote position responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting complex cloud-based and containerized technology solutions. This role serves as a technical expert, providing advanced support for Red Hat OpenShift and Strategy Customer Managed Cloud (CMC) environments while ensuring system reliability, performance, and compliance. The successful candidate will collaborate with technical teams, provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to LANL staff, and support the full lifecycle of system deployment, operations, and maintenance activities.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDeploy, configure, maintain, and support Red Hat OpenShift and Strategy Customer Managed Cloud (CMC) environments.

Troubleshoot, optimize, and perform upgrades, patching, and operational support across cloud and containerized platforms.

Integrate CMC components within OpenShift-based infrastructure and ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance.

Mentor LANL personnel on OpenShift administration, deployment best practices, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Develop technical documentation and collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and customer representatives to support project objectives.

Maintain accurate documentation and records related to job functions.

Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, as necessary.

Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to management.

Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings.

Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, Science, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Minimum of seven (7) years of directly applicable experience in software development, cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, or a related technical field.

Demonstrated hands-on experience deploying, administering, and supporting Red Hat OpenShift environments.

Proven experience installing, configuring, and supporting Strategy Customer Managed Cloud (CMC) software.

Strong knowledge of containerization technologies, Kubernetes, Linux system administration, and platform operations.

Experience mentoring team members and providing technical guidance and knowledge transfer.

Strong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to handle confidential information with discretionPreferred QualificationsExperience deploying and supporting Strategy CMC within OpenShift-based production environments.

Experience supporting projects within DOE, federal government, or other highly regulated environments.

Knowledge of security, compliance, and configuration management requirements for regulated systems.

Current security clearance.

Experience leading technical teams or serving as a subject matter expert on complex technology projects.
