GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Software Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining backend applications, integrations, and ERP (Odoo) solutions that support key business functions. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable software solutions, enhance existing systems, and integrate various business applications to streamline operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Python, Odoo ERP, and PostgreSQL, along with a passion for solving complex business problems through technology.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, test, and deploy backend applications using Python. Customize, configure, and maintain Odoo ERP modules to meet business requirements. Develop and support integrations between Odoo and third-party applications using APIs and web services. Maintain and enhance existing software systems and business applications. Collaborate with Business Analyst for software specifications and translate them into technical solutions. Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases to support application performance and scalability. Troubleshoot software issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions. Develop and maintain technical documentation for applications, integrations, and system configurations. Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices. Ensure applications meet security, reliability, and performance standards. Support internal business applications and customer-facing products throughout their lifecycle.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience. Strong proficiency in Python programming. Hands-on experience with Odoo ERP development and customization. Strong experience with PostgreSQL database design, development, and optimization. Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services. Experience integrating enterprise applications and business systems. Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with ERP implementation and support processes. Experience with version control systems such as Git. Knowledge of application security best practices. Experience working with customer-facing applications and internal business systems.
