- Job Overview
- The Client is actively modernizing its enterprise resource planning (ERP) and financial ecosystem to optimize administrative workflows, reduce cycle times, and eliminate manual data entry.
Key pillars of this digitized infrastructure include the CGI Advantage 4.0 financial system, Workday management modules, and PaymentWorks, a secure vendor onboarding platform used to validate identities, process EFT/Check streams, and indemnify the County against fraud. To seamlessly unify these disparate systems without manual data re-entry (such as the manual creation of VCC and VCM documents), the Department requires an API-led connectivity model. This engagement will focus entirely on leveraging the MuleSoft ecosystem to build out the automated integration architecture and data pipelines connecting these critical SaaS platforms. The consultant will support the project team in developing, managing, and optimizing integrations between multiple SaaS platforms. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience working across the full MuleSoft ecosystem (Anypoint Studio, Anypoint Platform, API Manager, Runtime Manager) and a strong background in integrating financial, HR, payments, or grants management systems. Key Responsibilities•
API Design & Development:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of APIs using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. Develop reusable MuleSoft components, connectors, RAML specifications, and rigorous technical documentation.
Architecture & Lifecycle Management:
Architect and maintain integration flows connecting multiple SaaS platforms. Manage the end-to-end API lifecycle, including design, versioning, mapping, testing, and deployment.
Requirements & Process Analysis:
Analyze business and technical requirements to translate them into technical integration specifications and future-state workflows.
Security & Policy Configuration:
Configure API security policies, gateways, SLAs, and continuous monitoring through MuleSoft administrative tools to ensure secure data transmission.
Testing & Optimization:
Participate in integration testing, error handling design, and root-cause defect analysis. Support comprehensive troubleshooting and performance optimization for API integrations.
Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer:
Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to validate integration specifications. Provide detailed knowledge transfer and integration best practices to internal County team members.
Project Management & Risk Tracking:
Participate in weekly status meetings with the Department's single point of contact. Track integration defects and technical environment risks, categorizing issues by severity (Critical, High, Medium, Low) in a weekly progress log. Required Qualifications•
MuleSoft Expertise:
Extensive, hands-on expertise with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Anypoint Studio, API Manager, Anypoint Exchange, Runtime Manager, and expert-level proficiency in DataWeave.
API Development:
Proven experience developing, deploying, and supporting REST APIs and specialized Mule applications.
Architectural Understanding:
Strong mastery of API-led connectivity, microservices architecture, and enterprise integration patterns (EIP).
SaaS Ecosystem Integration:
Documented experience integrating two or more SaaS systems within an enterprise environment.
Technical Standards:
Advanced proficiency with JSON, XML, RAML, OAuth2, TLS, and modern API security standards.
Analytical Skills:
Proven ability to analyze complex business processes and translate them into technical integration requirements. Strong debugging, performance tuning, and environment configuration skills. Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
