- New York City - on-site About About Maximor Maximor is building audit-ready AI accountants for the CFO office. Its agents connect to existing finance systems, reason over a unified finance context, and automate close, revenue recognition, reporting, cash management, and audit readiness. Maximor has raised $9M led by Foundation Capital. What they're looking for
- Strong backend engineering evidence in Python, Go, Java, Rust, or similar production languages.
- Has shipped production backend systems, infra, data pipelines, workflow engines, integration platforms, or high-correctness systems.
- Can own ambiguous systems end-to-end without waiting for a detailed spec.
- Open to New York City on-site work.
- Do not hard reject on exact years of experience if the backend evidence is strong. Strong fit
- Built internal platforms that multiplied output across multiple product pods.
- Designed abstractions for agents, workflow orchestration, retrieval/context, evals, observability, or developer tooling.
- Experience with financial systems, accounting workflows, audit/compliance, ERP integrations, or fintech infrastructure.
- High-agency early-stage builder who spots bottlenecks and ships the abstraction without waiting for a spec. Bonus
- Finance/accounting domain: close, revenue recognition, cash, reporting, audit, controls, tax, payroll, or treasury.
- ERP, bank, billing, payroll, CRM, contract, spreadsheet, email, or Slack integrations.
- Production AI agents, context engineering, retrieval, evals, verification, or guardrail systems.
- Experience with observability, replay, lineage, permissions, and audit-grade systems. Strong fit
- Prior experience at AI/data/platform companies: Distyl, Databricks, Snowflake, Replit, Glean, Eightfold AI, Decagon, Datadog, Notion, Sierra, Palantir, Cohesity, Nutanix, Wisdom AI.
- Prior experience at fintech or business-system companies: Ramp, Brex, Stripe, Rippling, Kalshi, Robinhood, Plaid, Block, Bloomberg, Nirvana Insurance.
- Prior experience at strong product/platform companies: Vercel, Atlassian, Docker, Roblox, HubSpot, Spotify, Asana, Pinterest, Figma, Shopify.
- Prior experience at frontier AI/autonomy/big-tech companies: Tesla, xAI, Waymo, Cruise, Meta, Google, Netflix, X (Twitter), Uber, Lyft, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, Thinking Machines, MidJourney, Mercor.
