Full Charge Bookkeeper (Real Estate)
  • Position Overview:
  • We are seeking a highly organized and meticulous Full Charge Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our real estate portfolio. Working directly under the
  • Controller
  • , the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining impeccable financial records, ensuring the accuracy of all property-level accounting, and producing detailed reports. This role requires an individual who is not only proficient with numbers but also possesses a "perfectionist" approach to data entry and spreadsheet management. ### Key Responsibilities
  • Full Cycle Accounting:
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance for multiple real estate entities.
  • Property Accounting:
  • Oversee rent rolls, tenant billing, and security deposit reconciliations.
  • Banking & Reconciliation:
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations with zero margin for error.
  • Reporting:
  • Assist the Controller in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
  • Spreadsheet Management:
  • Build and maintain complex Excel workbooks to track capital expenditures, property taxes, and utility allocations.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure all financial records are kept in a "neat and audit-ready" state at all times.
  • Payroll & Expenses:
  • Process company payroll and verify employee expense reimbursements. ### Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of full charge bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years specifically within the
  • Real Estate or Property Management
  • sector.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Advanced expertise in
  • Microsoft Excel
  • (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas).
  • Mastery of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, AppFolio, or Yardi).
  • Attention to
Detail:
  • Must be naturally diligent and exacting. We are looking for someone who catches the "penny differences" before they are flagged.
  • Communication:
  • Ability to provide clear, concise financial updates to the Controller and internal stakeholders.
  • Work Style:
  • Exceptionally organized, neat in documentation, and capable of meeting strict monthly closing deadlines. ### Preferred Attributes
  • Experience with commercial real estate development or multi-family residential portfolios.
