Job Description:
The Clinical Applications Analyst implements, supports, enhances and integrates third party products into our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for our general user community. Our EHR is built on the Netsmart MyAvatarNX platform running in a SaaS environment. This individual works with department heads, end-users, database administrators, and vendors within the standard course of supporting user needs, troubleshooting and improving the use of our clinical systems. The person in this role must communicate easily and clearly with non-technical personnel. At varying levels, this position will implement and maintain multiple systems. The position will be performed successfully with limited supervision.
Responsibilities Include:
Build, test, and maintain an electronic health record system using industry best practices. Define, document, diagram and integrate workflows and processes. Be able to work independently with internal and external customers and vendors. Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain deliverable timelines. Assist and train end-users in functionality, security and information extraction. Troubleshoot end-user problems within supported applications. Interpret and transform end-user needs to new or modified features and functionality. Maintain a secure working environment to protect confidential information and adhere with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Communicate with Manager and team regarding priorities, needs, and potential projects. Maintain up to date technical product knowledge and learn new technologies as required. Maintain an understanding of current and evolving standards such as privacy, confidentiality, accessibility, security and intellectual property rights. Rotation through 24 x 7 on-call coverage when necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Four-year Computer Science or similar technical degree required. Equivalent experience will be considered. Healthcare industry experience is not required; however, candidates with such experience will be given strong consideration. Experience utilizing and maintaining an Electronic Health Record system. Microsoft Operating System and Office 365 Suite experience Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and the ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes and abilities. Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and judgment. Demonstrate oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills. Practical and creative problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills and Qualifications Experience working in a healthcare organization Experience with a Netsmart EHR product Experience with SQL
