When the parts matter most, the world's innovators make them with Makino. The Opportunity We're seeking an Applications Engineer with deep experience in aerospace machining to join our team. In this role, you'll provide technical expertise that supports our sales force and customers, with a focus on aerospace structural and engine components . You'll leverage your skills in multi-axis machining (3, 4, and 5-axis) and high-speed cutting techniques to lead test cuts, demonstrations, training, and technical knowledge transfer. This is a hands-on engineering role based at our corporate headquarters in Mason, OH, with travel to customer sites as needed. What You'll Do Perform test cuts and machining demonstrations for aerospace structural and engine components. Partner with the sales team to evaluate customer requirements and support turnkey machine proposals. Program, set up, tool, and prove out machining processes for test cut requests that lead to new business. Deliver on-site customer startup training and ensure smooth technical knowledge transfer. Teach classes and conduct technical sessions on aerospace machining applications and high-speed techniques. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or 5+ years of relevant experience. 3+ years of experience in aerospace engine component manufacturing. Hands-on expertise with setup, programming, and operation of multi-axis machining centers (3, 4, and 5-axis). Prior experience with Makino equipment is a plus. Strong communication skills and professional presence when working directly with customers. Technical aptitude, logical troubleshooting, and sound decision-making skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Willingness to travel 25-40% (short-duration trips).
