Job Description

ROLE OBJECTIVE
Software engineering interns will assist BTG software engineering in developing software and firmware for new and sustaining product development or R&D while developing software engineering skills and gaining familiarity with BTG products and technologies.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS/SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of software engineering interns are to develop software applications. Interns will be expected to contribute to any phase of development (requirements, design, construction, test/validation, and configuration/release management) and will work under the supervision of a BTG engineer who will serve as a mentor.
Essential Functions:
Use appropriate tools, languages, and methods to construct software. Collaborate with colleagues in teams to identify and carry out tasks. Communicate concepts, consequences, and tradeoffs (speaking/writing/diagramming).
REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES
(Applicant must meet all to be considered): Enrolled in Engineering BS program (electrical or software engineering preferred) Basic competence with one or more programming languages (C/C++/C#, Java, Python, etc.). Coursework or other experiences related to software development theory, practices, or languages.
DESIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES
(Applicants may be considered even if they do not possess any or all of these): 1. Familiarity with electrical test equipment (e.g. scopes and meters). 2. Familiarity with RF industry applications and instrumentation (e.g. VNA, Spectrum Analyzer). 3. Familiarity with Linux.
