Required 5+ years of experience in machine vision, robotics, industrial automation, or related systems Strong understanding of vision fundamentals (camera models, lighting, calibration, image processing) Experience with at least one vision platform or library: Cognex, Keyence, HALCON, iRVision, OpenCV, or similar Solid software engineering skills and comfort working in a production codebase Ability to work independently, make good technical tradeoffs, and debug real systems Currently using AI to write code, debug, and solve problems Nice to Have (Not Required) Experience with Python and/or AI/ML‑based vision approaches Outdoor or mobile vision experience Robotics or autonomous systems background Familiarity with C#/.NET vision applications Experience helping define technical standards or mentoring junior engineers Experience programming FANUC Robots or Allen Bradley PLC's What You'll Be Doing (Day‑to‑Day) You will be a core contributor to RMV's vision systems, including: Designing, developing, and improving machine vision systems used on our portfolio of products, starting with the Robotic Crack Sealer Writing and maintaining production vision software (primarily C#/.NET today) Working hands‑on with cameras, lenses, lighting, lasers, and sensors in mobile, outdoor environments Implementing and tuning image processing algorithms : Feature and edge detection, Filtering and thresholding, Blob analysis, Coordinate transforms and calibration Integrating vision outputs with robot controllers and PLCs via Ethernet/IP, TCP/IP, and digital I/O Developing calibration, validation, and diagnostic tools to ensure reliability in the field Supporting deployment and troubleshooting on real vehicles (not factory floor service work) You will collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to make the full system work—not just the vision in isolation.
