  • 5:00 PM) | 9/80 Schedule Pay Rate Starting at $72.77 per hour Build the Future of Flight-Ready Software PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer
  • Developer to join a cutting-edge aviation program supporting a leading organization in the aerospace industry.
In this role, you will design, develop, test, and maintain safety-critical embedded software that powers mission systems and avionics applications. This is more than a development role—it is an opportunity to directly impact the safety, reliability, and performance of next-generation aviation systems. Your work will ensure software meets rigorous regulatory, safety, and customer requirements across the full product lifecycle. What You'll Do Design, develop, and maintain safety-critical embedded software systems Translate system and customer requirements into robust, testable software architectures Implement and optimize software components for performance, integration, and reliability Lead verification and validation activities (unit, integration, system, regression testing) Develop and maintain requirements traceability, design documentation, test plans, and release notes Produce certification and safety compliance artifacts Debug and resolve complex software defects and field issues Support user inquiries and integrate feedback into continuous improvements Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, including automated build and regression processes Automate build toolchains using GitLab Runners Configure and deploy containerized simulations using Docker Stand up and maintain development environments using controlled, auditable processes Automate laboratory equipment configuration for nightly and ad-hoc testing Monitor and improve development processes, KPIs, and toolchains Support R D initiatives, feasibility studies, and software lifecycle improvements Collaborate on software project planning, risk management, and supplier coordination Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry (or equivalent technical discipline) 9+ years of related software engineering experience OR Master's + 7 years experience OR PhD + 4 years experience Strong experience developing embedded or safety-critical software systems Fluency in GitLab CI/CD pipelines Experience automating build systems using GitLab Runners Proficiency in Linux and Windows scripting Strong hands-on experience with Docker and containerized environments Experience with software verification, validation, and regression testing Familiarity with software lifecycle documentation and traceability standards Ability to work within regulated, compliance-driven engineering environments Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting avionics or mission systems development Familiarity with IGHOS product line environments Experience standing up simulation environments in controlled lab settings Knowledge of automated lab test configuration and execution Experience with BSF or similar development frameworks and "golden path" environments Exposure to supplier/vendor management in software development projects Background in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industries Why Join Us At PDS Tech Commercial, we connect top engineering talent with some of the most advanced aerospace programs in the world. Pay Details:
