Job Description:
The Role You're not a product pusher - you're a trusted technical advisor. As an Outside Applications Engineer, you'll design and specify mechanical, plumbing, and utility systems for commercial and industrial projects, then go out and build the relationships that make you the go-to resource for MEP firms and public school districts across Pennsylvania. Hydronic heating and cooling, steam, compressed air, process systems - this is your wheelhouse. You'll own the specs, run the lunch-and-learns, and become the engineer that engineers call. What You Bring Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field experience 2-3 years in HVAC - design, construction, or sales engineering background Solid grasp of hydronic system design and commercial HVAC equipment Comfortable owning a large, diverse project load and keeping all the plates spinning Strong communicator who builds rapport as naturally as they size equipment Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and equipment sizing software Product sales experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or plant maintenance is a plus Valid driver's license with clean record; REAL ID compliant or valid U.S. passport required Able to pass background, reference, and drug screening What You'll Do Regularly call on MEP engineering firms and school district facilities/maintenance staff - building relationships, driving specs, becoming the preferred supplier Facilitate lunch-and-learn sessions and schedule technical trainings with the commercial trainer Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for owners and engineers on-site Drive specifications across the full product line with key influencers Stay active in industry organizations (ASHRAE, ASPE, CASHE, DBIA, etc.) Leverage manufacturer relationships to deliver better solutions and differentiate on service Keep tight project documentation to manage risk and maintain client satisfaction Expect to spend roughly half your time out of the office - job sites, client offices, and everything in between Local travel throughout Pennsylvania; occasional national travel required What We Offer Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) Performance Bonus Program 401k with Company Match Tuition & Certification Fee Assistance Comprehensive Health, Life & Long-Term Disability Insurance Flexible Spending Account
