Timken Power Systems Philadelphia Gear brand has a current opening for an Application Engineer to provide project engineering and application support for drivetrain projects. The application engineer will develop technical proposals and scope-of-work from customer specifications, support design and manufacturability, and act as a technical liaison across sales, production, quality, and supply chain. Responsibilities include: Develop technical scope and contribute technical content for proposals and quotations, includingponent selection and clear costing assumptions. Performponent sizing, basic calculations, and generate or review drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation to support manufacturability. Coordinate cross-functional technical activities on assigned projects, track deliverables, and report status to the manager and stakeholders. Support customer-facing activities including technical reviews, site s, startup assistance, and troubleshooting under manager supervision. Assist with product testing, failure analysis data collection, and documentation of corrective actions to support quality and reliability. Liaise with suppliers and supply chain to defineponent requirements, lead times, and resolve routine technical issues during fabrication/assembly.
Technical/Functional Skills:
Proficiency with CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) Comfortable reading technical drawings and specifications Familiarity with assembly, operation, and installation basics of drivetrain equipment is preferred Demonstrated project management skills Excellentmunication skills (verbal & written) and teamwork approach with inside and outside teams Strong problem-solving skills Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze and interpret critical data Skilled in all basic MS Office products and working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Epicor)
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
