By applying to this position you will have an opportunity to share your preferred working location from the following: •Mountain View, CA, USA; Pittsburgh, PA, USA•. •Minimum qualifications:•+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. + 5 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, or distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, or storage or hardware architecture. + 3 years of experience with backend infrastructure development using C++ (or similar high-performance languages). + 3 years of experience in software design, architecture, and development of large-scale distributed systems. + Experience building and maintaining data processing pipelines or high-throughput database systems. •Preferred qualifications:•+ Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field. + Experience architecting platforms capable of managing high-volume workloads and low-latency data ingestion. + Experience leading the modernization of legacy infrastructure, specifically optimizing for performance, reliability, and reduced technical debt. + Experience with distributed SQL databases, complex query optimization, and indexing strategies. + Experience in safety, abuse-fighting, trust, or integrity systems, particularly in an ads or large-scale ecosystem. + Experience leading complex technical projects that require alignment across multiple cross-functional engineering and product teams. •About the job•Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Ads Safety's Analyst Empowerment (AE) team is transforming reactive workflows into a proactive, Agent-first ecosystem to protect billions of users and drive growth. In this role, you will architect a modular platform where human intelligence and Generative AI collaborate seamlessly. Your work will power the "Technical Engine" behind critical tools like AART, Explorer, Enforcement Manager, and Classifier Infrastructure. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Learn more aboutbenefits at Google (https://careers.google.com/benefits/) . •Responsibilities•+ Lead the design of the Artificial Intelligence F1 (AIF1) on F1 high-throughput analytics warehouse, optimizing for real-time ingestion and massive scale to drive global analysis. + Enhance the cascading style sheets (CSS) application programming interface (API) to support rule mutation, automated lifecycle management, and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven enforcement integration as the gatekeeper for programmatic enforcement. + Architect large-scale indexing infrastructure, including entity search and spanner-based indices, to deliver sub-second lookups and high-precision impact analysis. + Implement large-scale Spanner and F1 solutions alongside bring your own object (BYOO) infrastructure a 100k+ write queries per second (QPS) platform to ensure high-precision, low-latency decision-making. + Partner with leadership to translate strategic visions into technical roadmaps; lead design reviews and mentor engineers to foster innovation.
