KeyTrak is seeking an Access Control Solutions Engineer to lead the research, design, and technical validation of commercial access control solutions. KeyTrak, a division of Reynolds and Reynolds, pioneered computerized key and asset tracking. With over 30 years of experience, KeyTrak remains the industry leader in secure, evolving key management solutions. As the internal subject matter expert, you'll focus on access control hardware/software, smart systems, and integration with related security technologies. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are compliant, complete, and delivered on schedule. This position requires up to 50% travel.
Key milestones in this role:
rapidly develop expertise and stakeholder connections (0-6 months), guide solution selection and go-to-market planning (6-12 months) and oversee implementation with ongoing solution ownership (12+ months). Key responsibilities
Design and implement smart access control systems, defining security goals, access levels, and user experience requirements
Review project drawings/specs to validate feasibility, completeness, and alignment with business needs
Develop and review system architectures and integration approaches (door hardware, intrusion detection, video surveillance)
Ensure implementations uphold security standards and best practices
Support stakeholders across the project lifecycle to enable successful delivery
Monitor trends and recommend new technologies, hardware, and vendors Preferred qualifications
Door hardware integration experience
Familiarity with intrusion detection and video surveillance
Project management experience
Creative/innovative problem-solving
Requirements:
Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills Analytical problem-solving and ability to assess tradeoffs Expertise in access control technology (hardware/software), including smart systems 5+ years designing, configuring, implementing, or supporting commercial access control solutions Technical degree preferred (engineering or relevant trade school); equivalent professional experience considered Ability to interpret drawings/specs and translate into system designs Working knowledge of physical security and solution validation Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills Analytical problem-solving and ability to assess tradeoffs
