Position Overview:
We're seeking two experienced
ADABAS/DB2
Database Engineers with COBOL expertise to join our remote team supporting mission-critical systems on IBM z/OS mainframes. You'll be responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining Software AG's ADABAS suite, ensuring 99.9% uptime and daily backups. This role is key to disaster recovery, performance tuning, and system optimization.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and upgrade ADABAS and DB2 database systems Maintain high availability and troubleshoot production outages Execute daily backups and monitor performance using SMF Lead disaster recovery planning and implementation Support migrations to DB2 or Oracle platforms Tune z/OS and CICS parameters for optimal performance Apply SAG software fixes and automate startup/shutdown procedures Collaborate with COBOL developers to ensure seamless integration with ADABAS and DB2
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 12+ years supporting
SAG ADABAS
systems; 5+ years on z/OS Hands-on experience with ADABAS Cluster Services in Parallel Sysplex Proficiency in COBOL programming within mainframe environments Familiarity with Natural, CICS, Tivoli, and SAG tools (e.g., PREDICT, AOS) Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
