Job Summary #CA-PS Under general direction of the Assistant Director of Applications Development, this position has a strong focus on web application development, maintenance, and support. This includes designing, developing and maintaining robust and secure web applications and web services critical to the business of Student Housing and Dining Services. Core backend and frontend development, scripting for automation, infrastructure, deployment, API-first design, automation of the software delivery pipeline, data presentation, analysis and full life cycle ownership of scalable, maintainable systems. Development will involve significant integrations with campus, departmental, and 3rd party systems, and will rely on interoperability with Microsoft products (Exchange, Active Directory, Office, etc.). • For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and/or equivalent experience / training.

Professional experience with CSS, JavaScript and HTML, developing software applications using ASP.NET, VB.NET and/or C#, and in database development using MS SQL Server to write and implement SQL Queries, stored procedures, views, and other SQL Server objects to access database content. Experience in a structured programming environment writing organized, consistent and easily understood code, including testing, certifying, maintaining and documenting all developed programs and scripts, including Git/Azure DevOps repositories. Analytical and critical thinking skills to understand the business environment and to translate those needs to solutions; resolve complex business and technical problems; enhance site functionality and productivity; evaluate and recommend new programming tools and techniques; select the appropriate programming and scripting tools for tasks. Interpersonal, customer service, verbal and written communications skills to effectively interact with the campus community, internal customers, and team members to develop working relationships, secure and/or provide information, resolve problems and develop solutions to accomplish organizational goals, and create documentation, communicate ideas, and perform knowledge transfers. Demonstrated knowledge of network and workstation operating systems, hardware and software to troubleshoot and assist users in a networked environment and of industry practices, community standards and department policies regarding web security principles. Time management, organization, and ability to see assigned tasks through to completion, working effectively and manage several projects concurrently and in various stages of completion. Preferred Qualifications Experience writing web-services and web-clients that consume those services and with client side JavaScript frameworks such as Knockout and AngularJS. Experience creating web-based reports using Crystal Reports XI and SQL Reporting Services. Experience with both manual, integration and automated testing from unit tests to more complex end to end tests including creating test scenarios and documentation. Experience with popular server-side .NET libraries and practices such as Entity Framework (or similar ORM tools), creating efficient and readable LINQ queries, Auto Mapper (or similar mapping tools), NUnit (or similar testing tools). Skill to use web-programming protocols and languages including HTML, CSS, AJAX, SOAP, and others, and knowledge of Housing and Dining common programs such as StarRez. Key Responsibilities 65%
