Design, document, develop, configure, test, and maintain mission-critical applications. Investigate and resolve system problems. Provide information system solutions to internal departments and external customers and partners. Analyze requirements, understanding business processes and needs. Recommend solutions to achieve the business goals. Complete projects with cross-functional teams of IT peers and business partners. Manage time and requirements expectations to ensure a high degree of stakeholder and user satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities:
Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Develop, program, and configure mission-critical applications. Assess user requirements and provide input to departments. Liaise with other IT staff to improve system efficiency, security, and functionality. Identify, diagnose, and resolve potential and evident system problems. Provide troubleshooting support to other staff. Design and apply new methods and procedures. Develop and test systems, programs, and database structure for efficiency and effectiveness, with a focus on data models, and storage and retrieval algorithms from permanency storage. Prepare systems specifications, project plans, and other internal documents. Ensure users and partners understand nature of work being performed, as well as timeframes and milestones. Provide regular status updates to supervisors and stakeholders. Participate in selection and recommendation of suppliers and vendors. Assist in management of those relationships. Balance high-priority work with lower priority maintenance work to ensure both success of projects and smooth operation of existing functions. Proactively identify opportunities for system and process improvement. Work with management and stakeholders to prioritize and implement solutions accordingly. Perform other duties and responsibilities.
Supporting Responsibilities:
Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations. Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information. Perform other duties as assigned.
SUCCESS PROFILE
Work Experience:
Relevant real-world experience in software development and analysis, preferably in a business environment.
Education, Certificates, Licenses:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or closely related field.
Knowledge:
Structured, object oriented programming skills, preferably in a .NET language. Familiarity with systems analysis and software design concepts. Knowledge of SQL/TSQL or similar relational databases. Experience working in a team-oriented, managed code environment. Requires ability to define and prioritize problems in a timely manner. Manage workload within a team environment or without direct supervision. Investigate and resolve data anomalies and/or software defects. Conform to IT standards and methodologies. Must be able to take direction from a knowledge holder that could be a manager, technical staff or user. Ability to quickly learn and apply new business or technical concepts.

Work inside in a general office setting with ergonomically configured equipment. Travel is required approximately 5% of the time.

Base Range:

Physical Requirements:
Stoop and bend. Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while performing core job functions. Repetitive motions to include typing, sorting and filing.
