BBN's Non-Kinetic Capabilities and Technologies team leverages computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, and physics to tackle customer challenges in electromagnetic warfare (EW), communications, cybersecurity, cyberspace operations, networking, and RF domains for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers. BBN is looking for creative, entrepreneurial, and highly motivated, scientists, engineers, and developers who want to create, contribute to, and grow cutting-edge research projects for offensive and defensive cyber and EW operations.
What You Will Do:
Develop next-generation cyber capabilities. Create or investigate new types of cyber physical systems. Develop exploits, implants, payloads, and communication stacks based on extensive reverse engineering, vulnerability analysis, and software development. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to solve challenging problems and deliver actionable results. Operationalize software through extensive testing, documentation, and integration with other systems. Participate in laboratory and field tests to collect and analyze data, test new capabilities, and perform demonstrations. Overnight travel required for certain projects.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics with less than 2 years of experience. Prior experience using creative programming skills using one or more of: C/C++ or Python. Experience with some assembly language (x86/64, ARM, PPC, MIPS, etc.) Reverse engineering skills using a tool such as IDA/Ghidra/BinaryNinja. Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, wire-level protocols, BGP, RF communications, etc.)
Qualifications We Prefer:
Capture the Flag (CTF) experience OS kernel development experience (e.g., Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android) Network programming skills Hardware emulation experience Working knowledge of RF signal processing and algorithm development Hands on experience with system architecture design, prototyping, and technical project leadership Active Security Clearance U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance after day one of employment.

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. The salary range for this role is 62,900 USD - 119,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
