Job Description

DevOps Engineer As a DevOps Engineer, support MFRA Branch applications and interfacing systems by enabling build, integration, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational readiness activities across both operations and maintenance and legislative-change efforts. This role supports secure and integrated IRS system updates, lifecycle compliance, source-code analysis, release readiness, and CI/CD-oriented practices using tools and technologies identified in the PWS.This position is Hybrid with 25% travel to New Carrollton in Lanham, MD and 75% being fully remote.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supports design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities for MFRA Branch applications across O&M and legislative-change efforts.
  • Supports build and DevOps activities using tools and practices such as Jenkins/Hudson, ANT, Maven, and GitHub, as identified in the PWS.
  • Assists with code management, source-code analysis, and release-readiness activities in support of IRS lifecycle processes and production delivery.
  • Supports system integration and interoperability across IRS applications and infrastructure, including collaboration on cross-system technical solutions.
  • Participates in testing support activities, including functional, automated, performance/load, security, and regression testing as applicable to supported systems.
  • Supports security and compliance activities, including FISMA-related processes, source-code analysis, and adnce to IRS security and change-management expectations.
  • Contributes to production support and rapid restoration efforts by assisting with troubleshooting, deployment, and operational issue resolution.
  • Prepares and maintains technical documentation and artifacts required under OneSDLC/ELC and related IRS delivery processes.
  • Supports Linux- and application-platform-related operational activities, including environments identified in the PWS such as RHEL 8 and JBoss-based application support. Requirements
  • Knowledge of DevOps using Jenkins/Hudson, ANT, Maven, and GitHub.
  • Familiarity with source-code analysis using AppScan.
  • Familiarity with application/server introspection, monitoring, and tuning using AppInternals, JConsole, and VisualJC.
  • Familiarity with Linux RHEL 8.0 and Linux shell scripts.
  • Familiarity with Red Hat JBoss EAP 7.2.6+, Java support tooling, and integrated build/deployment environments w applicable.
  • Experience supporting Agile methodologies, integrated delivery, and release-readiness activities.
  • Familiarity with IBM ELM / Jira / IRS lifecycle and change-management processes, including OneSDLC/ELC-oriented delivery expectations.
  • Ability to support secure system updates, integration/interoperability, and technical communication in a Federal environment with strong security and documentation requirements.
  • Knowledge of RHEL 8 containerization and cloud migration as identified in the PWS.
  • Must reside within 2 hours from Lanham, MD
  • Active Federal Clearance
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting build, integration, deployment, automation, testing support, and production operations in enterprise applications, including CI/CD and lifecycle-compliance activities.
