RefloDx is improving patient outcomes while saving billions in wasted healthcare expenses with its game changing SondeFlux™ technology . As a startup, RefloDx is focused on bringing to the medical device market a novel noninvasive device to efficiently workup patients with vague throat and voice symptoms. SondeFlux , uses ultrasound principles to detect material in the upper esophagus over an extended period, indicative of extraesophageal reflux ( EER ) also known as Laryngopharyngeal reflux ( LPR ), silent reflux, or aspiration reflux. SondeFlux allows clinicians and caregivers to quickly identify reflux as the underlying culprit in their pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, allowing for quicker treatment, problem resolution and decreased complications.
Position Overview:
This team member will design, simulate, develop, test and document embedded electronic components and firmware. This includes problem observation, requirements gathering, brainstorming, design reviews, C programming for stm32 microcontrollers, documentation packages, verification and validation (V&V) planning and execution.
Essential Functions:

  • Design, simulate, prototype, V&V electronic medical devices.
  • Code and validate the firmware in C using HAL for stm32 microcontrollers.
  • Write test protocols and reports, including presenting data to other team members.
  • Write technical reports and specifications for products.
  • Follow regulatory standards and company standard operating procedures (SOPs) for device development.
  • Coordinate efforts between the company and consultants or vendors.

Organized, Thorough and Detail Oriented Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must be able to design, test, and debug complete electrical systems and individual circuits.
  • Knowledge of embedded system design and incorporation of firmware.
  • Proficient in Verilog and FPGA workflows.
  • Proficient in
STM32 HAL C
coding.
  • Experience developing firmware using an RTOS.
  • Proficient in creating hardware architecture diagrams (state machines / hardware modules).
  • Proficient with electronic test equipment, oscilloscopes, DMM, function generators and power supplies.
  • Confident in managing stressful deadline situations and being fully responsible for solving problems.
  • Desired knowledge of Electrical Standards for medical devices (IEC 60601, ISO 14971, ISO 13485).
  • Desired experience in developing data acquisition devices (DAQs).
  • Desired experience in developing ultrasound-based devices.
  • Desired experience in developing digital signal processing (DSPs) devices.
  • Lift or move objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to travel.
Required Education and Experience:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience (1 years with a M.
S.) in electronic design, development, testing, debugging (analog, digital, mixed signal, power, RF and / or firmware design). Work Environment Work is performed in an office and prototype lab environment. Can be conducted remotely if desired. Occasional trips to customers and medical facilities for problem observations and research or in office work required. Physical Demands Lift or move objects up to 30 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Full-time salaried position with a flexible work week. Core work hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., allowing for team collaboration, rest of the hours can be worked around employee's schedule. Contract work, Internship and Part-Time will be considered. Travel Occasional travel may be necessary for trade shows, conferences, customer meetings, and on-site testing.
