Job Description:
Most senior embedded roles either bury you in meetings or leave you alone on a feature for six months. This one does neither. You'll be the lead engineer in a small, four person embedded software team, working across the full stack
  • C++ on embedded Linux, video codec work on H.264, GStreamer pipelines, and Yocto builds
  • all running on Nvidia hardware. This role is for someone who wants to stay deep in the code, whilst also taking ownership of how the team delivers. Culturally, this business values ownership and proactivity
  • they like engineers who want to push things forward, take products all the way through from concept to shipping, and take pride in the products they send to market. This is really important
  • OTA updates and real world reliability matter here.
You'll get a base salary of between $200k and $250k, plus equity. They have a hybrid working model, with a typical week being three or four days a week on site. If you prefer to work onsite 5 days a week, that works as well. What you'll need Strong C++ skills Good knowledge of embedded Linux, ideally including Yocto projects Hands on experience with H.264, or a comparable video codec A track record of shipping products to market, ideally consumer products A willingness to take on product lead responsibilities, whilst maintaining a heavy technical focus About the company A well funded consumer IoT business.
