Full Stack Developer (React/Java)

A client of Insight Global is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to support a large‑scale warehouse execution initiative. This individual will join an established engineering organization supporting a large project, working primarily on backend Java development with React on the frontend. The role is fully remote but requires availability during EST hours. This is a contract role with strong potential for extensions and offers the opportunity to work on a modern, non‑legacy system that is already largely built, focusing on enhancements, maintenance, and delivery execution. Day to Day Responsibilities Perform hands‑on enhancement work, completing development tasks and closing tickets based on defined requirements Primarily develop backend services using Java, with complementary frontend work in React Work closely with product teams and principal engineers to understand business logic, technical standards, and platform architecture Leverage AI‑assisted development tools (such as Cursor or similar) to improve productivity and development efficiency Collaborate within a dedicated team of three engineers assigned to the same workflow to promote knowledge sharing and cross‑training After approximately three months, begin working more directly with commissioning teams as part of project delivery Contribute to enhancement and maintenance work on applications that are already ~90% built, rather than legacy system support Collaborate alongside other additional engineering teams

Compensation:

$58/hr to $61/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Skills and Requirements 6+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack or Backend‑focused Engineer Strong backend development experience with Java, with working knowledge of React on the frontend Approximate backend/frontend split of 70/30, though 50/50 profiles are also acceptable Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot and modern Java frameworks or internal tooling Experience working in an agile development environment, completing tickets and implementation work rather than customer‑facing tasks Comfort using AI‑enabled development tools or workflows to improve efficiency and output Ability to work remotely while maintaining availability during EST business hours Prior experience working in a warehousing or logistics environment Exposure to or hands‑on experience with WMS, WES, or WCS systems Familiarity with large‑scale enterprise engineering teams or multi‑team delivery environments
