$137K- $ 142K/ Year
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND TASKS
- MUST be a US Citizen and ONLY hold US Citizenship (No dual citizens).
- Position can be remote or if within 30 miles of Herndon office they will be required to be on site 3 days a week (Can change based on business needs).
- After 6 months t will be an opportunity to extent or convert to FTE.
- This will be a 2 step interview process with the first being an initial interview with 1 interviewer then the second will be a panel.
- Design, architect, and optimize Kubernetes-based platforms and containerized application environments on hyperscaler cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of platform technologies, tools, and frameworks supporting modern SDLC practices.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, security, and operations teams to define and implement platform standards, patterns, and best practices across multiple cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, standards, and implementation guides.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Kubernetes, containerization, SDLC, and hyperscaler cloud services, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership across teams.
- Create and deliver clear, concise presentations and communications to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews, technical assessments, and proof-of-concept efforts to validate new platform capabilities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the software delivery pipeline (build, test, deploy, operate) with a focus on reliability, security, and compliance. Required Qualifications
- Strong, hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in production environments.
- Expertise in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and related tooling.
- Strong understanding of hyperscaler architecture and native services on AWS, GCP, and/or Azure (networking, security, IAM, storage, compute, and managed services).
- Solid understanding of the software delivery life cycle, including CI/CD pipelines, version control, testing, and release management.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear, comprehensive architecture and technical documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven track record serving as an SME and collaborating effectively with cross-functional engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in regulated, secure, or mission-critical environments (public sector, defense, or similar).
- Familiarity with cloud-native patterns and technologies (service mesh, observability, secrets management, etc.).
