Job Description:
We are partnering with a growing technology organization in the Chicagoland area that is hiring two Software Development Managers to support a major expansion initiative across their engineering team. This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote each week. These individuals will be responsible for leading a small team of developers while remaining heavily involved in hands-on development work, with the role being roughly a 60/40 split between coding and leadership responsibilities. The team is focused on building an additional layer on top of an existing application to simplify product offerings, accelerate feature development, and improve client onboarding speed. The environment is highly collaborative, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable partnering closely with product teams and scrum masters while helping guide and mentor a team of approximately 3-5 developers. There is substantial backend and frontend work ahead, so they are looking for someone who enjoys both technical leadership and active development work.
Requirements:
2+ years of leadership or management experience Strong hands-on Java development experience Frontend development experience (AngularJS/Angular preferred) Experience working in Agile environments Strong communication and collaboration skills Full-stack development background preferred Fintech or payments industry experience is a plus Tech stack includes Java, Angular, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MapR.
