We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to help revitalize a flagship SaaS platform that serves a global audience. This platform supports institutions and users worldwide in preserving and sharing cultural heritage for current and future generations. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful, large-scale technology with complex and rewarding challenges. You will play a key role in designing and delivering high-performance systems that handle millions of daily requests. From optimizing content delivery and scalability to building sophisticated metadata and asset processing pipelines, you'll work across the full stack to solve real-world problems. This role also involves tackling advanced search and discovery challenges while ensuring systems are reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement complex full stack features and distributed systems. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to engineering team members. Lead and contribute to architectural design discussions and technology decisions. Conduct code reviews and enforce high standards for code quality, performance, and security. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions. Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 7+ years of professional software development experience. Strong expertise in Python (3.11+), including modern language features such as type hinting, dataclasses, and concurrency patterns (threading and multiprocessing). Deep experience with Django, including its architecture, ORM, and templating system; familiarity with Django Ninja and Pydantic is strongly preferred. Proven experience designing and building secure, scalable APIs; familiarity with OpenAPI specifications is highly desirable. Advanced proficiency in PostgreSQL, including JSON fields, full-text search, query optimization, and managing complex data constraints. Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms. Experience integrating AI tools, frameworks, or concepts into software development workflows. Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and mentor engineers. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with high-scale SaaS platforms handling large volumes of traffic. Familiarity with search and discovery systems. Experience optimizing performance for content delivery systems. Exposure to linked data, metadata management, or digital asset pipelines. Work Environment Direct hire position. Hybrid work schedule based in the Columbus, OH area.
